Spotlight on a Fashionista
From time to time, I like to take inventory of my stylish girlfriends and ask them what inspires their style.
Who: Gianna Nucci
What: Twenty something Advertising & Media Specialist with a larger than life personality and a fashion sense to envy.
MD: Who is your go to designer and why?
GN: It’s hard for me to nail down just one designer. I have a few favorite designers/brands depending on the clothing item. As long as you have good basics (love Helmut Lang and Vince), having a mixed collection makes your wardrobe more diverse and fun! For Spring 2014, I’m loving Mara Hoffman. I’m a sucker for bold colors and prints and the ways she combines the two is perfection.
MD: Where is your favorite place to shop and why?
GN: Online- Gilt.com. They sell quality designers at even better prices and the site’s navigation is very user friendly; Budget- Nordstrom Rack. I enjoy digging through Nordy Rack when I have the time and almost always walk out with an amazing deal; Splurge- Neiman Marcus. I always receive great customer service here and it’s the first place I go when looking for something special.
(Side bar ~ I am heading to the Gilt City Warehouse Sale in DC tonight to shop the online collection in person…stay tuned for a write up on the blog)
MD: Name one look you are coveting this season.
GN: I am actually loving the fact overalls are making a comeback. It’s an adorable look. Anyone who knows me well can attest to the fact that I can’t resist a good jumpsuit or romper. Overalls just add to my onesie obsession. Still searching for my perfect pair!
MD: Finish this statement; “I feel my best when….”(style or beauty tip that makes you feel confident).
GN: My hair is pumped up! I love big hair. My hair is really flat and I have a full face so I feel best when I have a good, voluminous hair day. I typically blow dry my hair upside down and use Big Sexy products to achieve the look. Also, and I think everyone would agree, having a bronze tan will always make you feel sexy.
MD: How you would describe your style?
GN: Trendy without trying too hard. Balanced. I like combining subtle pieces with eye catching elements. Think white t shirt with a statement necklace or solid pants with an abstract print top. True style should come naturally, not something you spend hours on.
Some of the things I find most stylish about Gianna are her confidence, infectious laugh, and killer shoe and bag collection!
